Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Coating Technician to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end coating process, ensuring that our industrial products, specifically metal and rubber components, meet the highest standards of durability, adhesion, and aesthetic finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Surface Preparation: Perform professional-grade surface preparation, including chemical degreasing and mechanical cleaning (sandblasting/sanding) to ensure optimal coating anchorage.
  • Application: Execute industrial coating processes such as spray coating, dip coating, or roller coating with precision.
  • Quality Control: Conduct rigorous inspections using DFT (Dry Film Thickness) gauges and perform adhesion tests (e.g., Cross-cut tests) to ensure specifications are met.
  • Process Management: Monitor and control coating viscosity, GSM/DPU (coating weight), and manage drying/curing oven parameters.
  • Technical Compliance: Interpret Technical Data Sheets (TDS) for accurate mixing ratios and pot-life management.
  • Troubleshooting: Proactively identify and rectify common defects such as fisheyes, orange peel, uneven coating, or contamination.
  • Safety & Maintenance: Adhere to MSDS/SDS guidelines for chemical handling and perform routine maintenance on specialized coating equipment.

Experience & Requirements:

  • Experience: 2–5 years of hands-on experience in the industrial paint, coating, or adhesive application industry.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proven expertise in working with solvent-based and water-based coatings.
  • Substrate Expertise: Demonstrated experience in coating metals (iron/steel) and rubber substrates.
  • Environmental Awareness: Knowledge of monitoring environmental conditions such as dew point and humidity to prevent coating failure.
  • Safety Standards: Full understanding of industrial chemical safety practices and PPE requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in coating high-pressure industrial components or "Test Plugs."
  • Familiarity with anti-corrosion systems and multi-layer coating applications.
  • Certification in industrial coating inspection or chemical handling.
