You will manage the full hospice revenue cycle, including claims submission, payment posting, denial management, and reimbursement optimization. You will leverage your expertise in hospice billing to ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, room and board, and commercial payer regulations, and to collaborate with clients and internal teams to streamline processes and improve cash flow. To thrive, you should have:

  • Minimum 1–3 years of hospice billing experience in the field and solid knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Room and Board, and Commercial payor rules; multistate and multi-EMR experience preferred.
  • Solid technical skills including Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), cloud-based platforms, Zoom, and payor portals, with exemplary written and verbal communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • US-based eligibility to work remotely with occasional travel; preferred certifications/licenses in Medical Billing, Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), or Hospice Billing; solid attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities across client accounts.

Your responsibilities as the Billing and Revenue Cycle Specialist will include:

  • Accurately prepare, submit, and track hospice claims for Medicare, Medicaid, Medicaid Room and Board, and commercial payors to ensure timely reimbursement.
  • Manage denials, appeals, and redeterminations, collaborating with payors and clients to resolve billing issues efficiently.
  • Reconcile and monitor accounts receivable (AR), identifying trends and supporting revenue optimization for hospice agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, HIPAA standards, and hospice-specific billing policies across multiple states and EMR systems.
  • Provide daily reporting, revenue cycle analysis, and process improvement recommendations, supporting smooth operations and enhanced cash flow.
