Responsibilities:

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Landing Zone (ALZ) Bicep Engineer to support the development, maintenance, and evolution of enterprise-scale Azure infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions. This fully remote role will focus on Bicep-based module development within the Azure Landing Zone framework, ensuring alignment with Microsoft best practices, platform changes, and customer requirements. You will play a critical role in enabling scalable, secure, and compliant Azure environments.

 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Design, develop, and maintain Azure Landing Zone (ALZ) Bicep modules for enterprise-scale deployments
  • Ensure compatibility with evolving Azure Resource Provider (RP) APIs and platform updates
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues raised by customers, internal teams, and the broader community
  • Perform bug fixes, enhancements, and module upgrades to improve reliability and performance
  • Validate infrastructure deployments through CI pipelines, ensuring test coverage and successful execution
  • Remediate and maintain automated tests using Pester and PSRule
  • Contribute to release readiness, including versioning, validation, and documentation updates
  • Continuously improve technical documentation and deployment guidance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with Azure architecture and governance standards
Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong hands-on experience with Bicep for Azure infrastructure as code
  • Deep knowledge of the Microsoft Azure platform, including core services and architecture
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Azure Resource Manager (ARM) and templating concepts
    • Azure governance (Policy, RBAC, Management Groups)
  • Experience working with GitHub-based development workflows, including pull requests and code reviews
  • Experience troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines, validation failures, and deployment issues
  • Ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex technical problems

Preferred Certifications:

  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation
  • Familiarity with:
    • PSRule and Pester for validation and testing
    • Azure Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Well-Architected Framework (WAF)
    • Azure Landing Zone (ALZ) architecture and design principles
  • Experience with module versioning, semantic release practices, and CI/CD pipeline integration
  • Exposure to enterprise-scale Azure deployments and governance models
  • Preferred Microsoft Ecosystem experience (former FTE, or vendor)
