About the Role

Our client is a consumer products e-commerce business based in Batavia, IL, selling private-label products across major U.S. online marketplaces, including Amazon, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Wayfair, and Overstock.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Marketplace Data Analyst to support our Amazon listing optimization efforts through structured competitor and marketplace research. This role focuses on gathering, validating, and organizing competitive data to ensure accurate SKU-level analysis and consistent research outputs following standardized workflows.

Responsibilities

Marketplace & Competitor Research

  • Build complete and accurate competitor sets for assigned SKUs using Helium 10 (Cerebro and Xray) and standardized research templates.
  • Identify and select relevant primary and secondary keywords to run Xray analyses, ensuring full competitive coverage across top-performing listings.
  • Export Xray results into Excel, consolidate competitor data across keywords, and remove duplicates to maintain clean, non-redundant datasets.
  • Manually identify and add meaningful competitor variations that may not surface in keyword-based research to avoid missing key competitors.

Listing & Attribute Analysis

  • Review competitor listings in detail to capture key purchase-driving attributes such as size or variants, materials, colors, differentiators/USPs, included components, and other specification-based decision factors.
  • Record seller-type context (1P, 3P, FBM) consistently within research templates.
  • Maintain accurate and well-documented notes when data points are unclear or cannot be verified.

Sales, Pricing & Historical Data

  • Use Keepa to track competitive pricing and sales performance during key seasonal periods and across prior years.
  • Batch-run ASINs in Keepa to extract supporting data such as manufacturer information and buy box history, and accurately input results into templates.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Submit completed competitor and marketplace data sheets within the assigned timelines.
  • Flag missing, unclear, or conflicting data directly within Excel notes or comments.
  • Provide simple, clear status updates on assigned SKUs and overall task progress.
  • Maintain high standards of documentation quality, consistency, and formatting.

Requirements

  • Fluent or advanced proficiency in English.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm CST.
  • 3+ years of experience managing or supporting e-commerce marketplaces, preferably within consumer products or retail environments.
  • Hands‑on experience with platforms such as Amazon Seller Central, Walmart Marketplace, eBay, or similar.
  • Strong analytical skills with close attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience working with structured data, analysis tools, and reporting dashboards.
  • Familiarity with Helium 10 and Keepa is strongly preferred.
