Job Title: Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) Specialty: Care in the Community (CITC) Community Care Coordination & Consult Processing Place of Work (City/State): remote Opportunity Duration: 6-month base contract with potential Government-approved extension Shift Schedule: M F 8:00 AM 4:30 PM OR 7:30 AM 4:00 PM Credentialing / Onboarding time: 6 weeks to 8 weeks How many shifts needed per month: Approximately 20 22 weekday shifts per month (based on federal business days) License: Not required Experience needed: 1 3 Years (Medical administrative support, scheduling, or healthcare coordination preferred) Special Skills needed: • Medical scheduling & consult processing • Knowledge of medical terminology • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (critical), Word, Outlook, Teams • Typing speed 50 WPM • Experience with EMR/EHR systems (VistA/CPRS preferred) • Strong customer service & communication skills • Ability to work independently in high-volume environments Responsibilities: • Coordinate and schedule Veteran care with community providers • Process Community Care consults using HSRM, PPMS, CTM, CPRS, and VistA • Perform appointment scheduling, tracking, confirmations, and follow-ups • Validate and update patient demographic information • Handle inbound/outbound phone calls courteously and professionally • Ensure proper documentation and integration of medical records • Monitor consult reports and disposition referrals per VA guidelines • Communicate with VA providers regarding Community Care rules and processes • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Privacy Act, and VA security policies • Meet VA performance standards and quality metrics • Participate in team huddles and workflow coordination • Other duties as assigned Prime Physicians is a physician-led, The Joint Commission (TJC) Accredited, ISO 9001 certified and CMMI Level 3 appraised organization.
